An early Christmas present was given to Mike Council, a five year veteran-user of Carbon Works™ products, on Christmas Eve when he received the brix test results for the day on his Festival Variety strawberries. The results confirmed what customers and buyers already knew, an 11°Bx. . . the highest ever received, up two degrees - beating the previous record of 9°Bx. When asked how he did it, Mike declares, "The only thing I'm doing different is cutting my fertilizer 30% and using Carbon Works™ products."
Brix (°Bx) is a term used in the food industry for measuring the approximate amount of sugars in fruits obtained by
using a refractometer which is a simple optical instrument that measures the amount of light refracted in a liquid. Measuring the Brix level of fruits and vegetables is very important because it is a great indicator of flavor and quality. The higher the brix level of the fruit's juices, the higher the dissolved solids in the foods juices such as sucrose, fructose, vitamins, minerals, amino acids, proteins, and hormones. It is estimated that in a healthy fruit or vegetable, approximately 80% of the brix is represented by the natural sugars which give the food its great flavor and goodness. Refractometers are a standard piece of equipment for many agronomists and is a standard tool used in the fruit and citrus industries. Many companies offer big bonuses to farmers who can produce high brix fruits because it means they have to add less artificial sweetener to the juices which are devoid of any nutritional value (unlike natural sugars).
Mike has pushed RESTORE™ harder this season than ever before and now the results are showing up. He decided early this season to conduct several tests to gain a better understanding of how the products work. He changed the initial rate of 3 gal/acre to 6 and 9 gal/acre to see if there were any difference in stage growth. (Read story here)
Mike has been an avid proponent of Carbon Works products since 2007 when he almost lost his entire crop from salt water intrusion. Our products saved his crop and he's been spreading the word ever since.
OUR PRODUCTS PROVIDE CARBON – HYDROGEN- OXYGEN
Provides 96% of a plants makeup, which is essentially sugar, comprised of 45% Carbon, 6% Hydrogen and 45% Oxygen. Our organic nutritional products deliver the most critical components of life. Only 4% of a plant and living tissue is comprised of N,P, K or any other salts. Once the energy is consumed from synthetic (man-made) fertilizers, the nutrient reverts to a salt. Our products are organic and do not convert to salt. Traditional chemical fertilizers lack carbon, but contain higher percentages of nitrogen than plants can process at application time which leads to waste. The carbon in animal-based products is not only accompanied by too many salts and heavy metals, but it's also not in the form of carbon chain sugars which would reap maximum benefit to the plant. Benefical bacteria consume 10 times as much carbon as they do nitrogen which necessitates putting back massive amounts of carbon that are being mined from the soil.
OUR PRODUCTS ARE NATURAL
Our products are only found in completely decomposed plant life and contain the purest plant matter, such as humus, nutrients, enzymes, minerals, natural surfactants, bio-stimulants, and humic, fulvic and amino acids. Our products are "ready to grow".
AFFORDABLE AND COST EFFECTIVE
Our crop programs are very affordable and costs no more than an average fertilization program, yet deliver a properly balanced carbon diet. More savings are realized from the product’s ease of application and money saved on fuel, equipment costs, and wages. Saving more money is realized by the product’s ability to help clean up the environment and soil structure from years of salt saturation.
HUMIC AND FULVIC ACIDS DELIVER THE CARBON
Humus is the major soil organic component. Humus is best described as a brown to black matrix of humic substances produced by the decay of organic matter. Humic substances can be subdivided into three major fractions: Humins, Humic acid, and Fulvic acid. Collectively they function as follows: Provide a physical modification of soil structure and texture, improving aeration and moisture holding capacity; Hold minerals and macro nutrients in available and soluble forms which plants assimilate and use; Provide direct plant stimulation by supplying a slow release of auxin, amino acids and organic phosphate, thus regulating hormone levels that tend to undergo rapid changes in stressed plants; Serve as a substrate supporting the growth and proliferation of beneficial soil micro-organisms.
WHERE DID YOUR CARBON GO?
Unfortunately, "modern" farming practices, irrigation, drainage, cultivation, harvesting and the use of chemical fertilizers have contributed to the depletion of soil carbon, to the point where the presence of humic substances in agricultural and commercially managed soils has become seriously low or ceased to exist. Humic substances have historically been re-generated in the soil through practices such as crop rotation, planting legumes, plowing under green manure and application of compost. These practices are time consuming and costly, and today's economic pressures prevent growers from sustaining these practices.
VIABLE SOLUTIONS
Put the carbon back into your soils in a convenient and cost-effective manner, with Balance™ or Restore™ organic products. In the early stages of plant growth, the plant's first goal is to establish its root system. This is critical timing that cannot be retrieved if missed. The initial size and expanse of the plant's root system becomes the foundation of the future potential of the plant. Stem size, amount of foliage, storage potential, and overall health are largely determined by the expanse of the early establishment of the root system. Our products help to form a large and healthy root mass which supports the overall health of the plant by supplying energized food and oxygen to the bacterial population, enhancing water and nutrient uptake, which greatly increases photosynthesis and sugar production.
Throughout this site you will read and see a lot of information about energized carbon products. That may lead you to wonder what is energized carbon and why is that important?
To answer the question, we have developed a proprietary process that actually attaches energy to carbon forming what we call "energized carbon."
With the cost of fertilizer attached to the price of fuel due to the amount of energy needed to make it, everyone is looking for alternative sources. We have a solution that not only saves you money now, it helps you again and again. We call this sustainable farming. We must face the facts, it's time to restore our soils to make a better tomorrow for ourselves.
