Carbon Works™ announces record potato seed germination success achieved by Chris Sundin of 4 Star Tomato, Inc. located in southwest Florida utilizing RESTORE™ in the seed drill at planting. The normal expected potato seed germination in a fall/winter season is 21-30 days. According to Scott Shackelford, the potato guru for 4 Star, 18 days had been their "record" for the past 20 years. This time, only 15 days!... The only difference from prior years was using RESTORE™ in their planting water which shaved 3 days off their previous record to 15 days!
Chris, first to plant this year, put his seeds in the ground on December 2, 2011 along with 4 gal/RESTORE™ combined with 15 gal-water/acre. The unique abilities of RESTORE™ to jump start the plants is what Chris discovered earlier this year when he had great success using RESTORE™ and BALANCE™ growing spring and fall watermelons. He found out quickly that using RESTORE™ at planting was vital to the success of his crops. He emphatically states, "I'll never plant another crop without using RESTORE™ in the planting water."
Today, December 17, 2011, revealed the emergence of potato plants, which is 15 days from planting - a new record for this grower and a another win for RESTORE™ from Carbon Works! Congratulations to 4 Star!
4 Star Tomato, formerly one of the largest tomato growers in Florida, now annually grows over 2000 acres of potatoes for Frito Lay on several farms in Florida and California. 4 Star heard about Carbon Works products mid-season 2011 from another user as a way to minimize frost damage. They conducted a 250 acre trial with RESTORE™ & BALANCE™ with such outstanding results that they opted to do the entire 1400 acres of potatoes this year.
Just as Carbon Works™ is committed to helping 4 Star grow better, we're also committed to help you with each and every crop by Restoring the Balance that has been lost through modern methods of conventional farming.
